Rental Terms and Conditions

Please read the contractual conditions governing the Vispetta rental service carefully.

Simple Rental

1. Booking and Payment

Bookings can be made online at vispetta.com. The contract is finalised upon full or partial payment, depending on the option chosen.

  • Any outstanding balance not paid online must be settled at vehicle pickup.
  • Payments are accepted by credit/debit card or cash.
  • Prices are inclusive of VAT.
  • Vispetta reserves the right to cancel bookings not collected within 30 minutes of the agreed pickup time, without refunding any prepayment.

2. Rental Requirements

To rent a vehicle, the Customer must meet the following requirements:

  • Minimum age: 21 years (18 years for day rentals only, licence held for at least 1 year).
  • Driving licence: valid category B, held for at least 1 year.
  • Non-EU citizens must present an international driving permit or equivalent recognised in Italy.
  • Valid identity document (passport, national ID card).
  • Credit card in the renter's name for the security deposit hold.

3. Security Deposit

A security deposit of €300 is required at pickup as a guarantee against potential damages, fines or non-return. The deposit:

  • Is placed as a hold on the renter's credit card (authorisation, not an immediate charge).
  • Is released within 7 working days of return, net of any deductions.
  • May be fully or partially retained in case of damages, ZTL/speed fines, missing fuel, or unauthorised late return.

4. Insurance Coverage

Every vehicle includes mandatory Third-Party Liability (TPL) insurance. The following optional additional coverages are available:

  • RC Base (included): covers third-party damages; deductible for damage to the Vispetta vehicle is €5,000.
  • Mini Kasko (€10/day): reduces the vehicle damage deductible to €600.
  • Full Kasko (€30/day): eliminates the deductible entirely (€0 deductible).
  • Kasko coverages do not apply in cases of wilful misconduct, gross negligence, drink driving, driving under the influence of drugs, use of the vehicle contrary to the contract, or participation in races or competitions.

5. Pickup and Return

Opening hours for pickup and return: 09:00–12:30 and 15:30–19:00.

  • Pickup outside these hours is subject to availability and prior agreement.
  • Return must take place by the agreed time. Each hour of delay (or fraction thereof) incurs a surcharge equal to the current hourly rate.
  • The vehicle must be returned with a full tank as at pickup; otherwise the cost of missing fuel plus a €10 service fee will be charged.
  • Early return does not entitle the Customer to a refund.

6. Vehicle Use

The Customer undertakes to:

  • Comply with Italian traffic laws and local regulations.
  • Not sub-rent or lend the vehicle to third parties not named in the contract.
  • Not carry more than 2 persons per vehicle.
  • Not use the vehicle off-road, on unsuitable unpaved tracks, or in races/competitions.
  • Not carry loads or animals that could damage the vehicle.
  • Always wear an approved helmet while riding.
  • Not ride under the influence of alcohol (blood alcohol level above 0.5 g/l) or drugs.

7. Damages, Theft and Accidents

In the event of an accident, damage or theft, the Customer must:

  • Immediately contact Vispetta at +39 045 2456033.
  • In case of an accident involving third parties: complete the CID (Accident Statement Form) and not admit liability before consulting Vispetta.
  • In case of theft or attempted theft: immediately file a police report and provide a copy to Vispetta.
  • Not abandon a damaged vehicle without Vispetta's authorisation.
  • Damages not covered by insurance (or falling within the deductible) will be charged to the Customer up to the deposit amount.

8. Cancellation Policy

The following conditions apply to cancellations made by the Customer:

  • Cancellation at least 7 days before pickup: full refund (100%).
  • Cancellation between 3 and 7 days before pickup: 50% refund.
  • Cancellation less than 3 days before pickup: no refund.
  • No-show (failure to appear without notice): no refund.
  • Date modification: free of charge if requested at least 48 hours in advance.

9. Roadside Assistance

Phone assistance is included throughout the rental period. In case of a mechanical breakdown not attributable to the Customer, Vispetta will arrange a replacement vehicle subject to availability. Assistance covers:

  • Mechanical failures not caused by customer negligence.
  • Tyre punctures.
  • Electrical problems.

10. Liability

Vispetta is not liable for:

  • Damages to property or persons caused by the Customer during the rental.
  • Theft of personal belongings left unattended on the vehicle.
  • Traffic fines (ZTL, parking, speeding) incurred during the rental — entirely the Customer's responsibility.
  • Delays or inability to provide service caused by force majeure events.

11. Privacy

Personal data are processed in compliance with Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (GDPR). For full information please refer to the Privacy Policy available on the site.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

This agreement is governed by Italian law. For any dispute arising in connection with this agreement, the parties agree that the competent court is the Court of Verona, without prejudice to mandatory consumer protection provisions.
